John Nwofia, MD

Dr. Nwofia started his post-medical school training in the United Kingdom, in Orthopedic Surgery, from May 1990 until his move to the United States in June 1994. He completed an internship in Family Practice at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit between June 1994 and June 1995. He then completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital/University of Chicago Hospitals program between 1995 and 1998 where he served as a chief resident in his last year.

Dr. Nwofia is an interventional physiatrist and rehabilitation specialist and specializes in the evaluation and treatment of non-surgical spinal and musculoskeletal disorders. He is (ABMS) board certified with the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R) in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and the subspecialty of Pain Medicine.

Dr. Nwofia's expertise extends beyond spinal disorders. He has a keen interest in spinal cord injury rehabilitation, employing specialized techniques to enhance mobility and function for patients with these challenging conditions. Furthermore, he is experienced in post-stroke management, assisting patients in regaining independence and optimizing their recovery following a stroke event. Dr. Nwofia also provides comprehensive care for individuals with post-amputation, focusing on prosthetic rehabilitation to improve their quality of life.

Moreover, his proficiency in phantom limb management underscores his dedication to addressing the complex sensory issues that can arise after limb loss, employing innovative approaches to alleviate discomfort and improve functionality. Dr. Nwofia's multidisciplinary approach ensures that patients receive care tailored to their specific needs, empowering them to achieve their highest level of function and well-being.

For the last 15 years, Dr. Nwofia has trained several physicians in a 12 month fellowship program in interventional pain management. Some of these physicians are successfully practicing in the middle Tennessee area as well as other parts of the country.

Dr. Nwofia lives with his wife and kids in the Brentwood area. In his spare time he likes to travel and is also an enthusiast of the Shotokan Karate style.

Wesley Peace, MD.

Dr. Peace, a dedicated and accomplished physician, specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a particular focus on Interventional Pain Management. He further advanced his expertise through a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management. This specialized training equipped him with the skills and knowledge to employ innovative and minimally invasive techniques for managing pain. As an interventionist, he goes beyond traditional approaches, utilizing cutting-edge methods to address pain at its source. With a patent-centric approach, Dr. Peace builds strong, empathetic connections with those under his care. He understands the profound impact that pain can have on one's life and strives to tailor treatment plans that align with each patient's unique needs. A proud graduate of Meharry Medical College, Dr. Peace embarked on his medical journey with a passion for making a tangible impact on the lives of those facing physical challenges. During his residency training at UT Health San Antonio, he distinguished himself, earning the role of Chief Resident. This experience honed his leadership skills and provided a solid foundation for his future endeavors. Outside the medical realm, Dr. Peace cherishes family time, enjoying moments with his two young boys, adding a touch of warmth and balance to his fulfilling life. Notably, he holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, showcasing his discipline and dedication beyond the realm of medicine.
